Israel's Defense Minister Israel Kats, on the recommendation of Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, has approved new senior military appointments.
The list of new appointments includes 18 brigadier generals and one colonel. Additionally, 9 brigadier generals have been assigned to new positions.
Among the notable appointments is one involving a female pilot known by the code name "Gimel." Currently serving as commander of Ovda Air Force Base, "Gimel" will assume the position of Israel Air Force's new representative to the United States following her promotion in rank.
The 42-year-old officer will become the first female pilot in the history of the Israel Air Force to achieve the rank of general and the highest-ranking female soldier in this branch of the military.
