As of July 1, 2026, there are 1.1 million pensioners in Azerbaijan. This figure accounts for 10.7% of the country's total population.
Jnews.az reports that in the same period last year, the number of pension recipients in Azerbaijan was 1.1033 million people. Thus, over the year, the number of pensioners decreased by about 3.3 thousand people.
Average pension reaches 594 manats
According to the State Statistical Committee report, the average monthly pension amount increased by 10.5% over the year, reaching 594.4 manats.
Currently, this figure is equivalent to 50.6% of the average monthly salary in the republic.
Childbirth payments provided
In the first half of 2026, one-time payments were also made for a number of social categories.
Specifically, childbirth allowances were received by 15.9 thousand families, in which 16.4 thousand children were born in total.
Assistance provided to radiation accident victims
During the reporting period, 3.6 thousand citizens affected by a radiation accident also received state support.
The funds were directed toward covering the medical treatment of those individuals.
Payments to individuals released from penitentiary institutions
In the first six months of 2026, one-time payments were provided to 4.5 thousand individuals released from penitentiary institutions.
Thus, in the first half of the year, payments were carried out in Azerbaijan both for pension provision and state support for various social groups.
