On the afternoon of August 27, provocative images directed against our country were placed by unknown persons in front of the guest house of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation.
Jnews.az reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan has strongly condemned the incident.
The information released by the Ministry states that it cannot be ruled out that this provocation serves to artificially escalate Azerbaijan-Russia relations. The agency also emphasized that this incident may be part of a biased campaign against Azerbaijan recently conducted by some Russian media resources.
The Azerbaijani side has called on the relevant authorities of the Russian Federation to thoroughly investigate the incident, provide a legal assessment of the provocative actions, and take necessary measures to prevent such cases from recurring in the future.
The MFA statement noted that the Russian side must ensure the security of Azerbaijan's diplomatic mission and its staff in accordance with the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. The Ministry emphasized that Russia is obligated to fully fulfill its commitments to prevent any provocation that could hinder the normal operation of the diplomatic mission.
