Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov has issued instructions to relevant state bodies regarding ensuring the implementation of the State Program for Tourism Development for 2026–2030.
Jnews.az reports that, in this regard, a number of specific tasks have been set in the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers for the timely and effective implementation of the measures envisaged in the State Program.
New measures to be implemented in the tourism sector
The State Program was approved by decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated August 20, 2026. The document defines the main directions of tourism development in Azerbaijan in 2026–2030.
Within the framework of the program, it is planned to improve legislation in the field of tourism, promote investments, and create more favorable financial mechanisms for tourism projects.
Support for tourism projects will be increased
The State Tourism Agency has been instructed to prepare proposals regarding the improvement of the law «On Tourism» and submit them to the Cabinet of Ministers.
In addition, it is planned to prepare proposals on improving the mechanism for issuing investment promotion documents for tourism projects.
The possibilities of applying interest subsidies on manat loans for hotels, sanatorium-resort facilities, winter sports facilities, congress centers, and other projects in tourism and recreation zones will also be evaluated.
Control over implementation of the State Program will be strengthened
A special module will be created on the «e-monitoring» portal to monitor the implementation of measures envisaged in the program.
Starting from 2027, the monitoring and evaluation of the State Program will be carried out through this module.
It should be noted that the draft State Program was also discussed at a meeting of the Economic Council held in July under the leadership of Prime Minister Ali Asadov. At the end of the meeting, a decision was made to submit the draft to the President.
