Greece remains one of the most popular travel destinations for Israeli citizens, with interest extending beyond beach vacations.
Jnews.az reports that in 2025, a total of 743,841 tourist arrivals from Israel were registered in Greece, marking the highest figure ever recorded.
Tourist inflow grew by nearly 20 percent
In 2024, 620,805 arrivals from Israel were registered in Greece, and 479,163 in 2023. Thus, over two years, the number of Israeli tourists increased by more than 264,000.
Numerous direct flights between the two countries, relatively short flight duration, and Greece’s diverse tourism opportunities play an important role in the growth of tourist inflow from Israel. Athens Airport is also considered a convenient transfer hub for those traveling to other European countries.
Israeli investments are also growing
In parallel with tourism, economic ties between the two countries are also developing. In 2025, investment volume from Israel into the Greek economy reached 86 million euros.
The bulk of these investments was reportedly directed toward purchasing commercial and residential real estate, hotels, and tourist rental properties. In 2024, Israeli investments totaled 129 million euros.
Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni stated that the government pays special attention to ensuring the safety of tourists visiting the country. According to her, police enforce a «zero tolerance» policy against aggressive behavior and incidents.
