King Harald V of Norway has passed away at the age of 89 in an Oslo hospital.
Jnews.az reports that the press service of the Royal Palace of Norway issued an official statement regarding this.
"King Harald V has passed away. It is with great sadness that we announce that His Majesty King Harald has passed away today," the official statement said.
It should be noted that the Norwegian monarch had been hospitalized on August 17 due to complications from hemolytic anemia and an infection. He had not left the medical facility where he was receiving treatment since that time.
On August 27, the Royal Palace announced that King Harald's health had deteriorated and his condition was extremely critical.
King Harald V, a member of the House of Glücksburg, had been the King of Norway since 1991.
Following his passing, the Norwegian throne will pass to his 53-year-old son, Crown Prince Haakon.
