Haifa, July 13 — Several beaches in Israel’s Haifa have temporarily banned swimming due to sea water contamination.
Tests revealed that water quality did not meet regulatory standards. According to preliminary expert assessment, the contamination may have been caused by sewage water mixing into the sea.
The ban applies to Dado, Bat-Galim, Zamir and several other beaches. Relevant authorities are currently taking fresh water samples and conducting laboratory analysis. If test results are satisfactory, the beaches will be reopened for public use.
Competent authorities have notified residents and called on people to refrain from entering the sea at the affected beaches. It has been reported that contact with contaminated water may pose a risk to human health.
