Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the resignation of his government. The state leader said this decision is part of Ukraine's transition to a new political strategy.
According to Zelensky, in the coming period, renewal of the ruling team, attracting more experienced specialists to certain areas of state administration, and increasing the efficiency of governance will be among the key priorities.
The president noted that among Ukraine's strategic goals, strengthening cooperation with the United States, the European Union, neighboring countries, and other international partners holds a special place. Additionally, improving the supply of the armed forces within the country, accelerating preparations for the winter season, and implementing reforms in state enterprises will be the main directions of the government's activities.
According to reports, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko has stepped down from her position. Zelensky, while highly appreciating her work, said that Svyrydenko will continue her activities in another area of strategic importance for the country in the future.
Several candidates are being considered for the new prime minister position. Among them are Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, and Naftogaz CEO Sergey Koretsky. Currently, Sergey Koretsky's name stands out as the most likely candidate.
It should be noted that these changes in the government coincide with a period when the Russia-Ukraine conflict continues. Ukrainian authorities believe that the renewed government team will be more effective in advancing the country's security, economic stability, and development of cooperation with international partners.
