NATO's next summit is being held in Ankara, Turkey's capital, on July 7-8. The event marks the first NATO summit hosted by Turkey in the past 22 years, with leaders of the Alliance's 32 member states and representatives of partner countries participating.

Against the backdrop of rising tensions in the global security environment, the summit will focus on strengthening collective defense, expanding military cooperation, developing the defense industry, and addressing regional security issues.

For the first time, the Defense Industry Forum has been included in the official program of the NATO summit this year.

During the summit, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held separate meetings with U.S. President Donald Trump and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The meetings covered regional security, cooperation within NATO, and current issues on the international agenda.

In addition to NATO members, high-level representatives from partner countries in the Indo-Pacific region are also participating in the summit.

In connection with the event, security measures in Ankara have been raised to the highest level. More than 48,000 police officers and thousands of gendarmes have been deployed to maintain public order in the city.
