London, July 13 — The UK government has announced 250 million pounds in funding over the next three years to strengthen security for Jewish communities across the country.

The decision comes amid a rise in antisemitic incidents and hate-motivated attacks against Jewish people in recent months.

According to the government’s plan, the allocated funds will enable the deployment of more than 500 additional police officers. They will conduct patrols in areas with significant Jewish populations and provide security for schools, synagogues, and community centers.

The majority of the additional police forces will operate in London and Manchester. Additionally, further financial resources will be allocated to strengthen security measures in other regions of the country.

Part of the funding will be directed toward expanding the capabilities of counter-terrorism departments and continuing security programs implemented by police. These programs are reported to help identify suspicious activities in a timely manner and prevent potential terrorist attacks.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has stated that combating antisemitism is one of the government’s top priorities.
