Sanaa, July 13 — Saudi Arabia has launched airstrikes around Sanaa International Airport, which is under the control of Houthi forces in Yemen.
According to local sources, several explosions were reported around the airport in the capital Sanaa during the attacks. Witnesses to the incident reported seeing military aircraft flying over the city and successive airstrikes being carried out.
Al-Masirah, a television channel affiliated with the Houthis, confirmed that the airport was targeted. Representatives of the group stated that the attack would not go unanswered, warning Saudi Arabia of the consequences.
According to Yemeni officials, during the incident, the Houthis captured an aircraft belonging to the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as its pilot and co-pilot. The situation around the airport remains tense.
No official information has been released yet regarding casualties and injuries resulting from the attack.
