From July 16, significant changes to traffic flow will be implemented on Abdulaziz Demirchizade Street in the capital. According to information from the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (ALTA), the innovations are designed to optimize city transport management and reduce congestion.
What do the new traffic rules cover?
- Route changes: Vehicles traveling from Tabriz Street toward Heydar Aliyev Prospect will no longer be able to use the old route. These drivers will need to continue their movement via Koroglu Rahimov and Ahmad Bey Aghaoglu streets.
- Traffic light regulation: The traffic light system at the intersection of Khatayi Prospect and Abdulaziz Demirchizade Street will be reprogrammed. This measure will serve to reduce waiting times and minimize congestion at the intersection.
- Public transport priority: A special bus lane will be allocated to ensure unobstructed movement of buses toward the Ministry of Science and Education in the area.
Parking and temporary nature of the project
The agency has stated that no changes are planned for parking spaces along the street, and they will continue to operate under the previous rules.
It should be noted that these changes are temporary traffic regulations that will be implemented until the completion of the tunnel project connecting Aghaoglu and Yusif Safarov streets. Drivers are urged to comply with the new road signs and traffic rules.
