The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz for an indefinite period following strikes on US targets in Iranian territory.

Qatar has launched mediation efforts between the disputing parties. In this context, Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held a telephone conversation with Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Doha believes that de-escalation and prevention of a larger confrontation is possible only through diplomatic dialogue.
Pakistan has also expressed concern over the escalating tensions between the US and Iran. The Pakistani government has called on both parties to exercise restraint and resolve the crisis solely through negotiations.
