US President Donald Trump will hold bilateral talks with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky during NATO's July 7-8 summit in Ankara. The meeting is expected to focus on ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict and peace process prospects.

According to the White House schedule, Trump will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on July 7. The following day, the US leader will hold closed-door bilateral talks first with Zelensky, then with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Trump is scheduled to hold a press conference at the end of the summit before returning to the United States.

According to information from a senior White House official cited by Reuters, Trump intends to discuss with Zelensky the cessation of military operations and opportunities for diplomatic resolution of the dispute. The US administration believes that since the situation on the front has not changed significantly for a long time, new opportunities for resuming negotiations have emerged.

According to reports, after talks with Zelensky, Donald Trump is expected to contact Russian President Vladimir Putin to exchange views on the results of the negotiations.

It should be noted that this meeting is considered one of the most closely watched bilateral contacts of the NATO summit.
