Hamas is preparing to formally announce the dissolution of the administrative structure that has been performing de facto government functions in Gaza in the coming days.
According to reports, this step is linked to creating conditions for the National Administrative Committee, led by Ali Shaat, to enter the territory and assume administrative control over Gaza's governance. This is being assessed as a significant milestone in changing the internal governance model in the Palestinian enclave.
According to information distributed by The Jerusalem Post citing sources within Palestinian factions, the decision on dissolving the government committee is expected to be announced on July 6.
Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts continue aimed at strengthening the ceasefire regime. Within the next 48 hours, consultations are planned to be held in Cairo, Egypt's capital, with the participation of representatives from Hamas and other Palestinian movements.
The main purpose of the consultations is to resolve existing disagreements between the parties regarding the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement reached in October of last year.
The consultations to be held in Cairo are considered a decisive stage in terms of transferring the administration of Gaza to the National Administrative Committee and ensuring long-term stability in the region. The success of this process will depend on the parties' adherence to the agreements reached.
