Tonight's latest Russian missile strike on Ukraine's capital Kyiv has killed 9 people, with 43 others sustaining injuries of varying severity.
According to information released by city mayor Vitali Klitschko and local authorities, rescuers continue searching for people trapped under the rubble of a residential building in the Podol district that was partially destroyed by the missile. Emergency services personnel and specialized equipment have been deployed to the scene.
According to reports, the attack also sparked a major fire in a five-story residential building located in Kyiv's Goloseevsky district. Fifteen people, including 3 women and 6 children, were evacuated from the damaged building in the Podol district. Firefighting efforts and security measures in the area continue.
Ukrainian officials stated that the latest attack is one of a series of large-scale missile and unmanned aerial vehicle strikes targeting residential areas of the capital.
