Azerbaijani football club Qarabag has entered into negotiations with head coach Gurban Gurbanov regarding the extension of his contract. This information was provided by team manager Emrah Celikel.
According to Celikel, the club expresses a desire to retain the specialist in his position, but the exact timeframe for reaching an agreement remains unknown.
«We want Gurban Gurbanov to stay. But it is not yet clear when an agreement will be reached».
The current agreement with the 52-year-old coach is set to expire at the end of June this year. Gurban Gurbanov has been leading the Aghdam club since 2008.
During his tenure, Qarabag has achieved significant success: the team has become the Premier League champion 10 times, won the Azerbaijan Cup 5 times, and secured the country’s Super Cup once.
