In July, Israel has prepared a rich cultural program for theater, opera, ballet and contemporary dance enthusiasts. Throughout the month, classic and contemporary stage works will be presented in various cities across the country.
One of the notable events in the program is the play "The House of Bernarda Alba" presented by the Gesher Theater. The performance will be staged in Tel Aviv on July 1, 20 and 21. Based on the famous work by Federico García Lorca, the stage production is dedicated to the themes of freedom, family conflicts and humanity's desire for a better life.
On July 2 and 3, the same theater will present a performance based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment," one of the masterpieces of world literature. Director Alexander Molochnikov presents the classic work with a contemporary stage interpretation.
From July 3 to 10, the play "Mariupol Drama" will be presented in the cities of Rishon LeZion, Netanya, Ramat Gan, Haifa, Beersheba, Ashkelon, Petah Tikva and Ashdod. The performance was created with the participation of actors who survived the tragic events that occurred at the Mariupol Drama Theater in 2022 and is based on real events. After each performance, spectators will be able to meet with the actors and participate in discussions.
An interesting program is also planned for contemporary dance enthusiasts. The renowned American Peridance ballet collective will perform in Herzliya and Jerusalem until July 5, presenting a repertoire of contemporary choreography.
Additionally, from July 3 to 29, the famous Mayumana theater will tour with its new SELAS show in the cities of Ramat Gan, Beersheba, Tel Aviv, Holon, Kiryat Motzkin, Drom HaSharon Regional Council and Modiin-Maccabim-Reut. The performance is distinguished by its unique stage concept that combines music, rhythm, theater and dance with the four elements of nature.
One of the most anticipated musical stage events of the month is the Israel Opera's presentation to be held in Tel Aviv from July 17 to 30. Within this framework, Giacomo Puccini's opera "Tosca," one of the gems of world opera classics, will be presented to audiences in a contemporary stage production.
