The Baku–Tbilisi–Baku international rail route, which resumed operations in May of this year, has carried more than 12,000 passengers to date.
The information was released by Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY).
According to the statement, passenger services on the Baku–Tbilisi–Baku route were restored on May 25, 2026. The reinstated route was met with strong interest from travellers and served more than 12,000 passengers within two months.
ADY reports that approximately 5,500 tickets are currently back on sale for the route. Passengers can purchase tickets up to 30 days before their travel date.
The Baku–Tbilisi–Baku train service plays an important role in strengthening transport links between Azerbaijan and Georgia, while also contributing to the development of tourism and business travel between the two countries. In response to growing passenger demand, ADY is also taking steps to add extra carriages to the route.
