The first meeting of the OPEC+ Cooperation Charter Technical Committee began today in Baku.
The meeting is attended by representatives of OPEC member countries and states that have joined the Charter. A high-level delegation led by OPEC Secretary General Haysam Al-Ghais also participated in the event.
Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said during his remarks at the meeting that holding the event in Baku demonstrates the high value placed on Azerbaijan's role in both the history of the global oil industry and the development of modern international energy cooperation.
The minister emphasized that the main objective within the OPEC+ framework is to maintain balance between supply and demand in the global energy market.
