A car caught fire at the exit section of the Shamakhi tunnel on the Baku-Sumgait highway in Baku's Binagadi district. As a result of the fire, traffic flow in the area near the tunnel was severely disrupted, causing heavy congestion in both directions.
According to information from the Transport Intellectual Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the incident completely blocked roads leading to both the Khirdalan district and the 20 January metro station. Vehicles in both directions had to wait for extended periods.
Police officers deployed to the scene are currently taking necessary measures to clear the congestion. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes.
