Mutual air strikes between Russia and Ukraine show no signs of slowing. On the night of July 8, both sides reported information about attacks carried out with large-scale missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
According to the Main Headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia launched strikes on Ukrainian territory during the night hours with 7 missiles and 169 various types of unmanned aerial vehicles. It was reported that air defense forces neutralized 139 UAVs.
According to official information, some missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles reached their targets. As a result, residential and infrastructure facilities in several regions of the country were damaged. In the capital Kyiv, damage was also recorded as a result of the attacks, with reports of casualties. Rescue services continue search and rescue operations at the incident sites.
Meanwhile, Russia's Ministry of Defense disclosed that Ukraine also conducted a large-scale UAV attack on the country's territory during the night. According to the ministry, air defense systems destroyed a total of 415 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles.
Russia claims that drones were shot down over Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Rostov, Ryazan and other regions, as well as Moscow region, Krasnodar territory, Tatarstan, annexed Crimea, and over the waters of the Azov and Black seas.
As a result of the UAV attack on the city of Nizhnekami in Tatarstan, several industrial facilities were damaged. It was reported that investigations are underway to determine the extent of material damage. For security purposes, temporary restrictions have been imposed on the reception and departure of flights at some Russian airports.
