Pakistan may go to war with India if India’s refusal to fulfil its existing treaty obligations on the joint use of Indus waters creates a threat to national water security. This statement was made by foreign minister of Pakistan Khawaja Muhammad Asif. The minister’s words were reported by ARY News.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated: «The moment our national security is threatened, we will go to war with India.»
Foreign minister also noted that if there is credible evidence that India is moving at a dangerous pace to disrupt Pakistan’s water supply by using water as a weapon, the Islamabad government will be ready to consider military operations.
