Unstable weather conditions and river flooding in the Gakh, Zagatala and Balakan districts have caused serious damage to railway infrastructure on the Gakh–Balakan section.
The information was released by Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.
It was reported that train movement on the section has been restricted for safety reasons, and ticket sales to Goraghan, Aliabad, Zagatala, Goyem and Balakan stations have been temporarily suspended from today until July 20:
"In accordance with safety measures, from July 8 to July 20, Baku–Balakan trains will operate as far as Gakh station. Balakan–Baku trains will depart from Gakh station. Free shuttle buses will be arranged to transport passengers between other stations and Gakh station, and vice versa."
