The next increase in labor pensions through indexation in Azerbaijan is planned to be carried out in January next year.
Jnews.az reports that MP Vugar Bayramov stated this. According to him, the recalculation process of payments will cover more than 1.1 million citizens.
According to the Law «On Labor Pensions», pensions are indexed every year in accordance with the growth rate of the average monthly nominal wage for the previous year. Therefore, how much pensions will be increased in January next year will depend on official statistical indicators regarding wage growth in 2026.
According to official statistics, in the first half of 2026, the average monthly pension amount across the country increased by 10.5 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 594 manats. This figure accounted for 51 percent of the average monthly wage in the republic.
Vugar Bayramov noted that during the reporting period, the increase in pensions differed by category. Thus, age-based pensions increased by 10.2 percent, disability pensions by 10.5 percent, and survivor’s pensions by 10.3 percent.
The MP stated that the indexation carried out at the beginning of 2026 also played an important role in shaping the current level of the average pension. At that time, all types of labor pensions in Azerbaijan were increased by 9.3 percent.
