A major defense agreement worth over €3.1 billion has been signed between Israel and Greece.
Jnews.az reports that the Israeli Ministry of Defense released this information.
Under the agreement, Israel will establish a multi-layered defense system in Greece against various threats. The project will include several Israeli-made defense systems.
Among these will be the David’s Sling and Spyder systems produced by Rafael, as well as the BARAK MX system produced by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).
The Shield of Achilles project
The program, known in Greece as the Shield of Achilles, is considered one of the largest defense projects in the country’s history.
The project is regarded as the first program in which the Israeli Ministry of Defense has provided a comprehensive defense system against various threats to another country.
The establishment and commissioning of the systems in Greece aim to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities against various aerial and other threats.
