Transit transportation of propane gas from Russia to Armenia through Azerbaijan territory has begun.
Russian propane gas loaded on 30 railway cars is planned to be dispatched today from Bilajeri station.
The freight train will pass through Azerbaijan territory and be delivered to Armenia. The transportation is being carried out within the framework of the existing transit and logistics route between the countries.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan, as an important participant in the East-West and North-South international transport corridors, also functions as a reliable transit country in the region. Through the country's railway infrastructure, various cargo, including energy carriers, oil and chemical products, grain, container cargo and other goods are transported to neighboring and third countries.
According to experts, the implementation of transit transportation not only strengthens Azerbaijan's role as an international logistics hub, but also contributes to the efficient use of transport corridors and the increase of transit revenues.
