Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, government members, Knesset deputies, military leadership and other official figures attended the ceremony. Speaking at the event, Netanyahu described Jabotinsky as one of the principal ideologues in the path leading to the creation of the modern Israeli state, noting that the principles he advanced regarding national security, strong statehood and the Jewish people's right to self-defense remain central to the country's policy today.
Zeev Jabotinsky is considered one of the most influential Jewish political figures of the twentieth century. He founded the Betar youth movement in 1923 and was later one of the ideological sources of inspiration for the Irgun organization, which played a significant role in Israel's struggle for independence. His political legacy had a profound impact on the formation of the Israeli right-wing movement, particularly the Likud party.
Jabotinsky died in the United States in 1940. His remains were brought to Israel by decision of the Israeli government in 1964 and reburied on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Today his name is given to numerous streets, schools and public institutions in Israel, and he is remembered as one of the most important figures in the country's state history.
