Israel's Attorney General has charged Eli Lavon, a Jerusalem resident, with collaborating with Iran's intelligence services. According to the indictment, he maintained regular contact with two Iranian handlers, carried out their various assignments, and received payments in cryptocurrency in return.

According to investigation materials, Lavon's assignments included photographing the Jerusalem Central Bus Station, documenting a building in the Bukhara neighborhood of the city, hiding a cigarette box marked "Job completed" on one of the streets, and placing a USB memory device in a restaurant after bending it into a spoon shape. He recorded videos of the task executions and sent them to his Iranian handlers.

According to the information, Lavon received approximately 1,500 US dollars in total for this activity. Along with the indictment, Israel's Attorney General also submitted a request for his detention pending the completion of court proceedings.

In recent months, Israel has seen a series of similar arrests and charges related to espionage activities on behalf of Iran. Israeli security agencies have reported that Iran is attempting to recruit civilians within the country through social networks and encrypted communication channels.
