Operational measures carried out by the Main Cybercrime Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) to detain members of an organized group involved in organizing foreign-managed online gambling games using internet information resources and committing related illegal acts have been completed.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of joint measures conducted by the cyber police with local law enforcement agencies in the Republic of Georgia, Anar Aliyev, son of Islam ("Anar007"), head of the criminal group wanted for organizing illegal gambling under the name "Martin" casino linked to the "chc.play" platform and other names, was detained and brought to the country.
Investigations established that Anar Aliyev formed an organized group and recruited Azerbaijani citizens for illegal betting and casino games he organized abroad. He housed these individuals in rented homes in Tbilisi and other cities, carrying out the organization of online casino and gambling games.
As part of the operations, other members of the group created by Anar Aliyev — Ashraf Hasanzadeh, Seymur Nurullayev, Etibar Sultanov, Rashad Rzazadeh, Sharqin Aliyev, and Anar Aliyev, son of Suraj — were also detained and brought to investigation.
It was reported that these individuals provided the group leader with phone numbers belonging to local mobile operators, bank cards, and other technical equipment according to his instructions for the operation of online casino games.
The detained individuals also cashed out funds obtained from online casino games and transferred them in the form of cryptocurrency to accounts belonging to Anar Aliyev. During the investigation, it was proven that part of the illegally obtained funds was laundered through the purchase of movable and immovable property.
During the detention, numerous electronic media storage devices, bank cards, and other items were seized from the group members as physical evidence. Charges were pressed against these individuals at the Main Department, and they were brought to criminal liability.
By court decision, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against Anar Aliyev and Sh. Aliyev. Operational and investigative measures regarding other individuals involved in committing these illegal acts are continuing.
In conclusion, the Ministry of Internal Affairs once again urged citizens not to participate in illegal casino and gambling games.
It was noted that alongside organizing illegal casino games, participating in such games also incurs legal liability.
