The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has reported the discovery of the body of Samad Nasrullayev, captain of the civilian merchant vessel Atlas Bey. He died on July 14 as a result of a drone attack near the coast of Odessa.
Necessary measures are currently being taken to transport the deceased's body to his homeland, Baku, following the completion of all relevant procedures. The ministry expressed its deepest condolences to the captain's family and loved ones.
The attack on the civilian vessel Atlas Bey, owned by the Turkish company Okean Maritime, occurred on July 14. There were 11 Azerbaijani citizens on board. Ten crew members were successfully brought to shore in Odessa, but the ship's captain was killed.
