The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) conducted a special operation in the village of Tebnine in southern Lebanon. As a result of the operation, dozens of Hezbollah members hiding in an underground complex were surrounded.
Israeli soldiers blocked all entrances and exits to the complex, completely restricting the movement of the fighters. Following the incident, various mediators attempted to negotiate a safe exit for those trapped.
However, Israeli security sources gave a clear and harsh response to the mediators. The IDF's position was expressed as follows:
Surrender, or you will be destroyed inside the underground system.
Sources familiar with the negotiations report that Hezbollah members have the option to surrender within the framework of the existing ceasefire. Despite this, they still prefer to remain in the underground complex.
Israel views this situation as a test of a new model for clearing the region of armed groups and Hezbollah's military infrastructure. Sources familiar with the matter note that the situation could change at any moment.
