American aviation corporation Pratt & Whitney has begun sending layoff notices to 600 employees of its “Technologiat Lahavim” plant. The closure of the enterprise is expected within the next month.

The “Technologiat Lahavim” plant was founded by Stef Wertheimer after the Six-Day War. In 2022, the enterprise was acquired by Pratt & Whitney. Initially, the closure of the plant was planned for 2025, but that decision was postponed at the time.

Construction of residential and commercial properties is planned on the territory of the closing plant.

According to previously reached agreements, the blade manufacturing division, located in the Tefen industrial zone, will continue its operations.

Pratt & Whitney management has committed to holding a job fair, providing employees with tax consultations at the company's expense, and paying increased severance packages. This aligns with the agreement reached in August 2023.
