Florida-based US startup Powerus is mass-producing cheap interceptor drones in the United Arab Emirates intended to destroy unmanned aerial vehicles launched by Iran.

Jnews.az, citing The New York Times, reports that the company currently produces about 3,000 such devices a month.

According to reports, production is carried out in a small warehouse, where employees work 12 hours a day.

The interceptor drone, which costs approximately $5,000, is assembled from 3D-printed parts and also uses standard microchips and GPS modules.

According to the publication, Powerus has begun collaborating with local manufacturers in the UAE to rapidly increase production without building new factories in the US. This approach allows the company to bypass bureaucratic procedures related to exports.

In the future, the company plans to create a network of enterprises in various countries and increase the global production volume of interceptor drones to 15,000 units per month by mid-2027.
