Zamir Isayev, chairman of the Baku Religious Community of Sephardic Jews, has expressed his objection to the Israeli government's decision regarding the recognition of the alleged "Armenian genocide."
He stated that he considers such a step to be wrong, one-sided, and politically motivated. According to Zamir Isayev, historical issues of this magnitude should not be resolved by politicians' votes or turned into a tool for propaganda or political opportunism.
He emphasized that the events of 1915 should be investigated objectively, honestly, and professionally based on archival documents and the opinions of independent historians. In his view, replacing historical research with political statements is a dangerous path.
Zamir Isayev expressed his strong protest against such an initiative and noted his hope that the Knesset will not adopt this erroneous decision.
