A heavy dust haze has been observed in the city of Baku and the Absheron Peninsula since the early morning hours. Particularly in the Garadagh district, along the road from Gobustan settlement towards the capital, visibility on the roads has been significantly restricted due to unfavorable weather conditions.
Dust levels exceed normal limits
According to experts, the current amount of dust in the air is 1.4 to 1.7 times above normal limits.
The dust observed in the air is local in nature and related to meteorological conditions. This weather is caused by the strong northwest wind starting from the morning hours, which has spread the dust masses formed on the dry land surface to surrounding areas.
How long will the dusty weather last?
According to forecasters’ predictions, the dusty weather conditions are expected to persist due to prevailing meteorological circumstances until tomorrow afternoon. Drivers are urged to exercise caution on the roads and adhere to speed limits.
