Under a decree signed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, new rules have been approved regarding the termination of service for employees working in diplomatic service bodies. These changes are reflected in Article 30.1.14, newly added to the Law "On Diplomatic Service."
According to the new provision, a diplomatic service employee's tenure shall be terminated in three main cases:
- Upon death;
- Upon being declared missing by a court judgment that has entered into legal force;
- Upon being declared deceased by a court judgment that has entered into legal force.
In the aforementioned cases, upon termination of the diplomatic service employee's service, financial support shall be provided to their heirs. Specifically, heirs will be paid an allowance equivalent to four times the average monthly state salary.
