Russian President Vladimir Putin has met with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. The talks lasted approximately three hours.
Jnews.az reports that according to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, the meeting was not limited solely to the Ukraine issue. The parties also discussed potential large-scale Russian-American projects.
Putin previously described contacts with Witkoff and Kushner as useful.
US representatives are expected to visit Kyiv on September 6. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that they are prepared for substantive talks with the US delegation, where the diplomatic process and issues related to Ukraine are expected to be discussed.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin also stated that Moscow received a request via official channels regarding the cessation of strikes on Kyiv. He noted that no strikes have been carried out against Kyiv since midnight, adding that the Ukrainian side has significantly reduced the number of its attacks.
