The Israeli army announced that it has taken operational control over the strategic Ali al-Taher ridge located in southern Lebanon.
Jnews.az reports that, according to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, troops discovered two main underground tunnel routes belonging to Hezbollah in the area and cleared them of terrorists. It was reported that during the operation, some Hezbollah members were killed, while others fled the area.
The Ali al-Taher ridge is considered one of the strategically important heights in southern Lebanon. Located at an altitude of approximately 600 meters, this area is 15 kilometers from the Israeli border and holds a dominant position over the surrounding area.
The Israeli side stated that Hezbollah command posts, weapons depots, generators, and other infrastructure intended for long-term living were discovered under the ridge. According to the military, that underground network was used to direct combat operations.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that control over the Ali al-Taher ridge is an important step in terms of strengthening the security zone created in southern Lebanon.
