Discussions continue actively within Israel's political system regarding the agreements reached between the US and Iran, causing significant concern among high-ranking officials.
Ministers' Reactions
Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir (Otzma Yehudit party) stated that the agreements reached do not bind Israel. "We are an independent, sovereign state and are not blind executors of the will of the United States," he emphasized. Ben-Gvir added: "We love the United States and are full of gratitude to President Trump, but we are not a banana republic."
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich expressed the opinion that the agreement is "bad for Israel and for the entire free world." He also noted: "The joint operation was not without results; much has been achieved. We will have to independently continue the operation to overthrow the Iranian regime using non-standard solutions."
Opposition Criticism
The head of the Yashar party, Gadi Eisenkot, sharply criticized the government's actions on this issue. According to him, "This government acted without strategy and leadership courage and bravery, losing public and international partners' trust over three years."
The head of the Beyachad bloc, Naftali Bennett, called this agreement "a dangerous turning point in the issue of the security of the State of Israel." Bennett also stated that his bloc "has a clear plan to collapse the Iranian regime. With one hand we will stop its movement towards acquiring nuclear weapons, and with the other we will bring about the collapse of this regime through diplomatic, intelligence, and economic measures."
