A large-scale anti-corruption operation is underway in Iraq. As part of the operation, security forces are carrying out arrests in the capital Baghdad and several other regions of the country.
According to "Asharq Al-Awsat", government officials, deputies, employees of power structures, and businessmen suspected of corruption and abuse of power have been arrested in Baghdad's "Green Zone" and other areas.
The operation is being carried out based on court orders, under the leadership of Prime Minister Al-Zaidi, with the participation of the counter-terrorism service, the army, and special services.
Baghdad's "Green Zone" is still closed, and the Iraqi authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the results of the operation.
