In the Surakhani district of Baku, criminal prosecution was terminated against 24-year-old Salim Novruzov (name and surname changed), accused of killing his wife. The incident took place in the village of Yeni Günəşli, where the man inflicted multiple blows on his wife with his hands and feet.
Causes of the conflict and course of the investigation
According to the charge sheet, jealousy was the cause of the aggression. Salim Novruzov made accusations against his wife because she spent a lot of time on her phone and refused to explain her behaviour. This led to a quarrel, during which the man inflicted bodily injuries on his wife. After the incident, S. Novruzov was detained and criminal proceedings were initiated against him.
Reconciliation of the parties and court ruling
During the trial, the defendant expressed remorse over what had happened and stated that he had fully compensated for the harm caused. The victim, in turn, confirmed that she had no claims against her husband. As a result, based on the court's ruling, the criminal case was dismissed and Salim Novruzov was released from liability.
