The British company Circeus has acquired the Israeli startup Dondy, which develops marketing solutions for online stores via the WhatsApp platform.

Although the value of the deal was not officially disclosed, according to TheMarker journalist Ofir Dor, the acquisition is estimated to be worth several million US dollars.

Dondy was founded in 2024 by childhood friends from Kiryat Ono: Tamir Or, Or Schreiber, and Inbal Katz-Or. The company has not raised any external funding to date and operates with a team of seven people.

Currently, approximately 70,000 online stores operating on Shopify use the platform developed by the startup. The platform's users include the brand Miss Sixty and the well-known Israeli retail chain Mashbir le-Tsarhan.

The platform developed by Dondy sends automatic notifications to customers via WhatsApp regarding items left in shopping carts that have not been finalized, discount campaigns, and offers that encourage repeat purchases. Additionally, the platform uses artificial intelligence to automatically answer user questions.

Circeus has stated that Dondy will continue to operate as an independent company. The company also plans to expand the startup's operations and accelerate its growth in international markets.
