Part of a courthouse building constructed in the early 20th century collapsed this morning in the city of Bolzano in northern Italy.
According to initial reports, approximately one-quarter of the building collapsed. Renovation and expansion work was underway in the structure at the time of the incident.
Three people were inside the building when the collapse occurred. Only one of them sustained minor injuries.
According to preliminary assessments, the incident was caused by problems with load-bearing columns in the section where reconstruction work was being carried out.
