Following US military strikes on strategic targets in the port city of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran and surrounding areas, powerful explosions have been reported in the region.
According to reports, successive explosion sounds have been heard in various parts of the city following the strikes. Videos shared by local residents and on social media indicate that the explosions were directed at port infrastructure.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the operations targeted Iran's military infrastructure, including rocket facilities, unmanned aerial vehicle launch sites, and targets used by military naval forces. Washington justified this action as a response to attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
Against the backdrop of these events, tensions in the region have escalated further, and security concerns related to the Strait of Hormuz have returned to the agenda.
