Jnews.az reports that Berkovich’s family has publicly revealed that he has been battling dementia for about two and a half years. In recent months, the former basketball player left his home and began living in a specialized care facility to receive necessary care and medical assistance.
Berkovich’s health and his family’s struggle with this condition are also reflected in a television documentary titled «Miki’s Secret». The film highlights the efforts of his wife and family members to adapt to the new circumstances created by the illness and to support him.
Miki Berkovich is considered one of the most famous players in Israeli basketball. For many years, he was a key player for Maccabi Tel Aviv and the Israeli national team.
