Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko stated that the country's military personnel will not be deployed to combat operations in Ukraine.
He made these remarks during a solemn ceremony held for graduates of higher military educational institutions and senior officers.
Lukashenko stated that Belarus is not interested in the escalation of the conflict and that the country's leadership supports resolving disputes through peaceful means.
"No one will send you to this front. We do not need war. The continuation of the war in Ukraine is very bad. We are supporters of resolving all issues through peaceful means. We are a peaceful people, we do not want to wage war. But at the same time, we are ready to stand up to the enemy."
Lukashenko's statement is regarded as the latest official declaration regarding Belarus's non-participation in the military conflict in Ukraine.
