The programme for the international dance festival «Azerbaijan Dance Festival 2026», which will be held in Baku from October 29 to November 1, has been announced.
According to the organisers, representatives from more than 20 countries will participate in the festival. The total number of participants is expected to exceed 1,000 people.
This year, the festival will be held under the motto «Wind of change, light of ideas, fire of desires… The meeting place for every dancer!». The programme will feature competitions, educational events, and cultural exchange projects. Participants will compete in European and Latin American dances, Smooth, Rhythm, Salsa, Bachata, and Argentine Tango.
Programme
The festival will begin on October 29 and 30 with the International Dance Congress. Masterclasses will be organized as part of the congress, featuring professional experience sharing with foreign experts.
The official opening ceremony of the festival will take place on October 30. That day, a theatrical programme will be presented as part of the Night of the Dancing Diamonds gala show, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary. Performances will be accompanied by Boris Myagkov’s orchestra, and the day will conclude with a Salsa Party.
On October 31, WADF World Championships, Open to the World tournaments, and SRDS Super Trophy series competitions will be held. An interactive excursion introducing the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan will also be organised for festival participants. The day will conclude with a final stage featuring world dance stars.
The festival will conclude on November 1 with a stage of the World Cup Pro-Am Dance Series international circuit and an official farewell party titled My Azerbaijan.
According to the organisers, tickets for all festival events are already on sale.
About the Festival
The festival is organized by Olga Krasnyanskaya, head of the Smooth & Rhythm Dance Style (SRDS) organization, and Tarana Muradova, head of the Azerbaijan Dance Council (AzDC) organization. The co-founders of the project are six-time world dance champions Eldar Jafarov and Anna Sazhina.
«Azerbaijan Dance Festival 2026» is the flagship project of the 7 Dance Wonders of the World initiative, officially recognised by UNESCO. The main goal of the festival is to expand international professional cooperation and promote Azerbaijan as one of the world dance centers.
