The Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan has decided to terminate the educational activities of Baku Girls' University. The educational process at the university has been officially suspended.
The closure was based on the results of the Accreditation Council meeting held on July 10, 2026. The institutional and program accreditation of the university received a final rating of "non-compliant." During the inspection, serious violations were identified in the implementation of state educational standards, normative acts, and quality assurance requirements.
Given that the university failed to provide substantiated evidence of its ability to eliminate the identified shortcomings in a short time, the revocation of the institution's right to conduct educational activities was initiated. By the order of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan dated July 30, 2026, the license of Baku Girls' University, issued on September 11, 2018, was revoked.
To ensure the continuity of the educational process and protect the rights of students, all students of Baku Girls' University will be transferred to other higher educational institutions in their respective specialties. The Ministry of Science and Education emphasized that the main goal of accreditation procedures is to ensure the quality of higher education and compliance with the law.
