US President Donald Trump has invited Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to the G20 Leaders Summit to be held in Miami in December this year as a personal guest.
Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to the US, Aibek Moldogaziyev, announced this during an event at the Hudson Institute analytical center in Washington.
According to the diplomat, Trump has invited not only the leaders of G20 member countries to the G20 summit, but also the presidents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan as personal guests.
«We are very proud that President Trump has invited the presidents of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan. We would have been very pleased if only one of them had received an invitation, but all three leaders will be his personal guests at the G20 summit».
According to the information, the G20 Leaders Summit will be held in Miami, USA on December 14-15, 2026. Azerbaijan is listed on the official website of the summit among the invited countries.
It should be noted that the G20 is one of the main international platforms bringing together the world’s largest economies. Leaders of non-member countries typically participate in the summit by invitation of the host country.
The US administration and the Press Service of Azerbaijan’s President have not yet issued official statements regarding the invitation.
